Mike Beck
July 8, 2006
Our nineteenth house concert was a standing-room only celebration of cowboy poetry and legends of folk music. Local singer/songwriter and horseman, Mike Beck, came down from his ranch on Mt. Toro in the Santa Lucia Mountains and brought along his friend Ramblin Jack Elliott. What a night!
BLOG: Read more about Mike and Jack's visit in our online diary, where you can add your comments, too!
PODCAST: There's an after-show interview with Mike Beck, with a little frivolity added by Ramblin Jack Elliott, and a preview of the next concert with L.A. singer/songwriter, Duff.
Mike, Jack, Juliet, and Greg.
Everyone waved to Sonoma during the introduction.
Mike brought a beautiful vintage Gibson guitar.
Natural light, perfect night.
A standing-room-only crowd!
Later that night...
Mike only got better as the night went on.
In the second set, Mike had Ramblin Jack Elliott sing a few songs, including an amazing version of Tim Harden's "If I Were A Carpenter."
Mike had Jack come up for a duet on "Streets of Laredo."
Another full house, with folks even standing in the back yard. The desserts were over the top as well.
Sonoma got to finally wear the red cowgirl books Gail got her!
Basia's daughter's very first concert!
Mike's friends listen to him warm up in the Green Room.
Eric brought in his guitar for Ramblin Jack to sign.
These two really put on a show, on and off the stage.
