Matt & Shannon Heaton
February 15, 2005
The second Tree House Concert of 2005 featured some dear friends and mentors. Matt & Shannon Heaton performed at the very first Tree House Concert way back in May 2003, and they are responsible for suggesting we host something called a house concert. Greg originally wrote Matt & Shannons' band Siúcra, wondering when they'd play on the West Coast after discovering them on CD Baby. They wrote back suggesting we host them, and we were stunned. We're still stunned, but as disciples we hope we have made them proud.
Matt & Shannon quickly made things fresh all over again with their energetic play, and we were especially touched when Shannon noticed enough of the dragonflies around the Tree House to play her own "Dragonfly." We're hoping to hear that on the next album!
Shannon told a very funny story about connecting with a monkey at the zoo in Omaha NE, and Matt, after hearing of The Proposal at the Mark Erelli concert last April, officially volunteered for the Birthing House Concert in August. We'll put them on the short list!
And of course, Greg got to finally wear that Irish national soccer jersey Juliet got him for his birthday!
